Artificial Intelligence holds great potential. But only if it is used correctly.
Theoretically, of AI is used incorrectly, we could end up facing the rebellion of machines against us, humans. This is the popular way to depict potential dangers of developing and using algorithms that are capable of working like a real brain, from functional perspective.
But AI researcher Janelle Shane has another point of view. She says, machines driven by AI will be completely obedient and will do exactly what we ask them to do. And that’s the reason why we should be wary: is it really OK if we use imperfect algorithms to solve real-world problems? Will we be able to tell if the answers provided by AI are the correct ones?
