Ulster Bank customers will pay a range of new fees and charges for using their current accounts from today.
The account maintenance fee is being reduced from €4 to €2 a month, however, the bank is introducing a host of fees for day-to-day transactions like direct debits, ATM withdrawals, and contactless transactions.
Account holders who use their accounts frequently will pay more.
Ulster Bank's new fees is now the same as the fee structure at AIB and Bank of Ireland.
Daragh Cassidy, Head of Communications at price comparison website bonkers.ie said Ulster Bank customers will see the majority of account holders pay more for their banking each month. "We still have among the highest mortgage rates in the Eurozone and now we have some of the highest day-to-day banking fees too, so this feels like a real kick in the teeth for consumers."
